According to the name, shahi paneer is a royal gravy because its gravy prepares with cream, butter, dry nuts and Indian spices. You can make easily restaurant style shahi paneer at home. Shahi paneer is the pride of Indian cuisines. Gravy of it get spoiled quickly, make it as your requirement. We can be enjoyed it with any Indian bread like simple roti, naan, roomali roti, lachha parantha.

Ingredients:

  • 250 gram----paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1 tsp----paneer (crushed cheese)
  • 2 big---onion (roughly chopped)
  • 2---tomato (roughly chopped)
  • 4 cloves---garlic (peeled and crushed)
  • 1 inch----ginger(grated)
  • 2---green chili(chopped)
  • 1 tsp---butter
  • 1 tsp---oil
  • 1/2 cup---fresh cream
  • 2 tsp---curd
  • 8-10- --almonds (soaked and peeled)
  • 5-7---cashew nuts
  • 1 tsp--red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp---cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp---dry coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp---turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp---garam masala
  • 1 tsp---cheese masala
  • according to taste---salt
  • Some fresh coriander leaves (for garnishing) 

METHOD:

  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add garlic, ginger, onion, green chili, tomato and cook for 2 minutes. grind this mixture.
  • On the low flame, dry roast the cashew. grind the almonds and cashew nuts together. Keep aside it.
  • Heat 1 tsp butter on medium flame, add cumin seeds, cook it for a second, add grind mixture.
  • Cook the mixture until the mixture leaves the pan.
  • Add salt, red chili powder, dry coriander powder, turmeric powder and mix it well.
  • Add 2 tsp curd and stir it continuously.
  • Add fresh cream and (paste (almonds +cashew), cook it for 2 minutes.
  • Put cheese cubes, let stir it gently.
  • Put cheese masala and garam masala.
  • cook it for 3 minutes and sprinkle crushed cheese.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • Put it on the serving bowl.
  • Garnishing it with fresh coriander leaves.

Tips

  • Spices and flavor emerge, when shahi paneer is cooked on low or medium flame.
  • Due to the addition of fresh cream and milk, its gravy gets spoiled quickly, make it as your requirement.
