 Today, we are telling you the method of making "kaddu ka halwa" which is nutritious as well as delicious. Kaddu is sweet in taste and has a yellow color due to which kaddu feels very good both in eating and viewing. My children do not like to eat but they like to eat kaddu ka halwa".you can eat this halwa even in fasting..You can make this halwa by adding mawa and even without mawa

Kaddu ka halwa without mawa


INGREDIENTS:

  • Kaddu (pumpkin)- 1/2 k.g
  • Ghee-1/2 cup
  • Milk powder-2 tsp
  • Sugar-150 gram
  • Cardamom (crushed)-1/2 tsp
  • Almonds-8--10
  • Cashew-5--6 
  • Milk-1/2 cup

METHOD

  • Peel the kaddu and grate it (remove the part of seeds).
  • On the low medium flame,heat 2 tsp ghee in a heavy bottom pan, fry almonds, cashew and take out
  • Chop fried almonds, cashew. 
  • Put grated kaddu in it.
  • Cook the kaddu for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  • Kaddu will be soft when cooked 10 minutes.
  • Add 1 tsp milk powder to 1/2 cup milk and mix it properly and put it in the kaddu.
  • Put cardamom powder and sugar   in it.
  • Now cook it until it leaves the pan.
  • Finally add chopped almonds, cashew and remaining ghee and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Kaddu ka halwa is ready to serve..

KADDU KA HALWA WITH MAWA

INGREDIENTS:

  • Kaddu (pumpkin)- 1/2 k.g
  • Ghee-1/2 cup
  • Mawa (khoya)- 200 gram
  • Sugar-150 gram
  • Cardamom-3--4 
  • Almonds-8--10 
  • Milk-1/2 cup


METHOD

  • Peel the kaddu and grate it (remove the part of seeds).
  • On the low medium flame,heat 2 tsp ghee in a heavy bottom pan, fry almonds, cashew and take out
  • Chop fried almonds, cashew. 
  • Put grated kaddu in it.
  • Cook the kaddu for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  • Kaddu will be soft when cooked 10 minutes.
  •  Put milk, cardamom powder and sugar   in it.
  •  Let the pumpkin thicken while stirring continuously.
  • When it thickens add grated mawa in it. 
  • Now cook it until it leaves the pan.
  • Finally add chopped almonds, cashew and remaining ghee and cook it for 2 minutes.
  • Kaddu ka halwa is ready to serve..


    TIPS:

    • Take fresh and ripe kaddu for halwa..
    • Cook the kaddu halwa on low medium flame.
    • There is no need to add a lot of sugar in pumpkin halwa because pumpkin has its own sweetness, keep the amount of sugar in this halwa low.
