Mohan thal is a traditional sweet made from gram flour that is prepared at home during festival in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Mohan Thal is also offered to Shree Nathji bhagwan. Mohan thal that disso.lves in the mouth is considered the best. This traditional sweet, which is prepared from gram flour, ghee and dry fruits at home on the occasion of festival.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup---Besan (coarse gram flour)
  • 2 tsp---Milk (to crumble)
  • 2 tsp---Desi ghee (to crumble)
  • 1/2 tsp----Cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp---Almonds(chopped)
  • 1 tsp---Pistachio (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup--Desi ghee
  • 1 Cup---Sugar
  • 3/4 cup---Water

METHOD


  • Add 2 tsp milk and 2 tsp of ghee to the gram flour and crumbled it properly with the help of fingers.
  • Sieve the crumbled gram flour with the help of sieve.
  • Heat 1 cup of water on low medium flame.
  • Add sugar and prepare two string sugar syrup (2 taar ki chashni).
  • Heat 1 cup of ghee in a heavy bottom pan on low flame.
  • Add sieved gram flour to it.
  • Keep stirring it constantly.
  • Put cardamom powder in it.
  • Roast the gram flour until it turns golden brown.
  • Put sugar syrup to the golden-brown gram flour little by little. cook it till it gets thick consistency.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • mix it properly, let it cool down.
  • Grease the plate with ghee.
  • Put the mixture in greased plate.
  • Spread the mixture with the help of spoon.
  • Spread the grated almonds and pista on it.
  • Leave it for 20 minutes to cool down.
  • Cut into square pieces.
  • Now mohan thal is ready to serve.
  • You can store it in refrigerator for seven days.

  • Crumble the gram flour with ghee and milk properly.
  • Preparing sugar syrup.
  • Roast the crumbled gram flour.
  • Cook the roasted gram flour in sugar syrup.
