ATTA HALWA/ KADHA PRASAD |
Atta halwa (Wheat flour halwa) is a sweet made from three things which is also known as kadha prasad .This halwa is made from wheat flour , sugar and desi ghee., in which all the ingredients used are available in every kitchen. Wheat flour halwa is distributed as prasad in the gurudawara. In North India, Atta halwa is prepared on many auspicious occasions. Even the newlyweds prepare Atta halwa for the first time in the kitchen. In winter season, breakfast is very tasty to eat with wheat flour halwa and poorie. It is depend on you to add dry fruits in it, The real taste of halwa comes from roasted flour and desi ghee. Wheat flour halwa is such a dessert that all ingredients are always available at home. In my family, we like to eat wheat flour halwa in plain form ,without any dry fruits

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Wheat flour
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 3/4 cup Desi ghee
- 3 cup Water
- 5 Almonds (chopped)
- 8 Raisins (kishmish)
METHOD:
- Boil 3 cup water in a pan, add sugar to it.
- When sugar dissolves in water, switch off the flame.
- Sugar syrup is ready.
- Heat a pan on the low flame, put desi ghee in it
- when the ghee is melt ,Add wheat flour in it.
- Stir the flour continuously until it turns brown.
- It will take at least 7 to 8 minutes to roast the atta for halwa.
- The flour for halwa is completely roasted ,It is known by the colour of flour and aroma of ghee.
- Now add sugar syrup to it.
- Put chopped almonds and raisins in it.
- Keep stirring the halwa continuously so that there were no lumps in it.
- Turn the halwa on medium flame.
- When the halwa starts separating to the pan and the ghee comes over the halwa, It means that the halwa is ready.
- Switch off the flame.
- Put wheat flour halwa in serving bowl and you can enjoy it with poorie or bedami poorie.
EASY METHOD TO MAKE ATTA HALWA FOR BEGINNERS
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Wheat flour
- 1 cup Sugar
- 3/4 cup Desi ghee
- 3 cup Water ( lukewarm)
- 5 Almonds (chopped)
- 8 Raisins (kishmish)
Method
- Heat a pan on the low flame, put desi ghee in it.
- when the ghee is melt ,Add wheat flour in it.
- Stir the flour continuously until it turns brown.
- It will take at least 7 to 8 minutes to roast the atta for halwa.
- The flour for halwa is completely roasted ,It is known by the colour of flour and aroma of ghee.
- When the flour becomes brown in color, add lukewarm water and sugar to it and stir continuously so that no lumps form in it
- Turn the halwa on medium flame.
- When the halwa starts separating to the pan and the ghee comes over the halwa, It means that the halwa is ready.
- Switch off the flame.
- Put wheat flour halwa in serving bowl and you can enjoy it with poorie or bedami poorie.
TIPS:
- The most important work in wheat flour halwa is roasted the flour.
- Flour is roasted properly, It tells the colour and aroma of halwa.
- Flour should be stir continuously while roasting halwa so that the flour does not burn.
- Always roast the flour on low flame.
- Use a heavy bottom[an while making the atta halwa so that the wheat flour does not burn while roasting.
- Even after adding the sugar syrup, Keep stirring the halwa continuously so that it does not get lumps.
